Over the 4th of July weekend in 2013, Heather and I joined her parents in Yachats, Oregon for a long weekend at the coast. The sun stayed out the entire time we were at the coast. It was a lovely weekend.
- Along the Beach in Yachats – Walking south into downtown from the hotel.
- La De Da Parade – The world-famous parade in Yachats happens every 4th of July.
- Yachats 4th of July Duck Race – The rubber duckies race down the Yachats River every year to see who will go home a lucky winner.
- Afternoon and Evening at the Beach in Yachats – Sunset is gorgeous over the Pacific Ocean.
- Yachats 4th of July Fireworks – The fireworks are always great in Yachats.
- Darlingtonia State Natural Site’s Pitcher Plants – The carnivorous pitcher plants at this interesting state natural site are fascinating to observe.
- Oregon Dunes – The excellent Oregon Dunes in Florence are full of picturesque views and excitement.
- Bridge Over Coos Bay – The beautiful bridges over Coos Bay.
- Charleston Marina – Delicious crab was had at the crab shack on the dock.
- Cape Argo – The beautiful and wild Cape Argo is a magical place.
- Bandon – A cute little coastal town with a great main street.
- Washed Ashore in Bandon – An interesting exhibit of marine life made of garbage pulled from the ocean.
- Port Orford – The only drydock port on the west coast where ships are lifted out of the water every time they come into the harbor.
- Cape Blanco – Land’s end in Oregon is a windswept place where land meets the ocean in a stunning burst of colors.
- Morning on the Beach at Yachats – A beautiful, sunny morning on the beach at Yachats.
- Gallagher Park and Gerdemann Botanic Preserve – A beautiful rhododendron park in the forest of Yachats just up the hill from the beach.
- One Last Morning on the Beach – A last walk along the Pacific Ocean before heading back inland.
