The Black Forest

Nina and I decided to go to the Black Forest to see the sights and do a little hiking.  These are some photos of the adventure.

We decided to hike up a mountain to the top for the view.

Nina reliving the hiking experiences she had with my family in California.

In the winter a ski lift goes up to the top.

It was a little bit cold up there.

On the top of the mountain.

The cowbells were magical.

Nina’s car by a lake.

A train station.

Her radio had been stolen a few weeks before our little trip.  She had found a replacement unit although it wasn’t completely installed.  At least we had a little music though!

Recent storm damage.

For my father.  He loves seeing distribution systems in other countries.

A World War I memorial in the countryside.

We started driving down this path then decided it was not going to take us where we wanted to go.  And with it getting dark, we decided it was not a good idea to try off-roading a Jetta.

Attack of the windmills!

The Night Bus to Tunis

In case you didn’t find this little story burried deep under my Tunisia page, I thought I’d bring it to your attention.

Something was jabbing my face. What was all that noise? Light suddenly flooded into my vision as my cap was pulled up above my eyes by the muzzle of a loaded AK-47. Sounds became clearer. Things came into focus. An overzealous National Guard officer had an AK-47 pointed squarely between my eyes and was shouting at me in Arabic something along the lines of “Okay you Algerian scum! Show us your papers or your head will go missing!”

FINALLY!

I FINALLY was able to get rid of all the spam comments. I may have lost a few legit comments but thats okay. I’ve got the spam filters set pretty high so it might reject some comments that aren’t spam. if you notice that it does such, let me know. and while we’re at it, anyone that’s actually reading this, leave a comment. I’m interested to see just how many people read this.
