Snowy meadow walk

The snow is coming down at Forked Meadow! What a festive holiday mood!

Sure is pretty walking through the meadows.

Time to head back to the house before I become a popsicle.

Looking out at the snow from inside the cabin.

Snowy Forked Meadow Day

Over the river and through the woods to Forked Meadow we go. The 4runner knows the way to carry the presents over the snow-covered roads.

I went up to Forked Meadow for a few days during the holiday break. Luckily the roads weren’t as bad as they were at Thanksgiving. The creek is really flowing through the meadows with melting snow.

Poofy enjoying the wood fireplace.

US Space and Rocket Center

I went down to Huntsville, Alabama for work and had a few extra minutes so I stopped by the US Space and Rocket Center near the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.

There was a lot of interesting rocket hardware outside the main museum buildings.

Many of the outdoor displays were of old defense systems.

Not really sure what the yellow submarine is about but there it is.

It’s pretty wild seeing all these old rockets and defense systems slowly oxidizing under the Alabama sky.

This place reminds me a bit of the touristic rocket park in Woomera.

The real show is inside the huge rocket shed where an entire Saturn 5 assembly is laid out.

It’s incredibly impressive standing under this absolutely massive rocket.

And they’ve got the Apollo 16 Command Module on display! I could have spent hours looking it over. Even the beat up old heat shield was fascinating.
