On our way up to the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness trailhead, we stopped off at the overview to look into the backcountry. Mount Goddard, 11998, Red Mountain, and several others are back there.
Checking out Forked Meadow
Forked Meadow is such a beautiful to spend some time at. In the mornings the meadows are often frost-covered.
Walking up past the “grand canyon” cut in one of the meadows.
A little bit of water coming down from the upper meadows through this creek.
There is quite a bit of water coming down from the forest.
Clean, clear, and cold water.
These meadows sure are beautiful!
Camp El-O-Win Visit
We went over to Camp El-O-Win to check on a few things and walk around the camp.
Some beautiful blue stain siding that went up on a building recently.
The bridge that joins both sides of the camp together. There used to be a suspension bridge here but it’s long gone and now replaced by this metal bridge.
The dining hall at the center of camp.
Looking over toward the camp manager’s cabin.
