We went to Florida in January 2015 for a conference in the Tampa area. While we were on the west coast of Florida, we decided to go check a few things out. The absolute highlight was swimming with the manatees. How wonderful!
- Clearwater Marine Aquarium – We went to visit a few famous film stars.
- Wildlife at Innisbrook – The resort had a great deal of wildlife hanging out on the golf courses and in the swamps.
- Tarpon Springs – The old Greek sponge docks sure are neat.
- Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park – We met a hippo (not native!), a bunch of manatees, and other neat stuff.
- Ozello – A little out of the way place way out in the marshes for dinner.
- Swimming with the Manatees – We had the opportunity to swim with manatees and they even came up to touch us!
