After a conference in Boston, I went down to Cape Cod to visit my aunt and uncle at their summer house. My uncle and I drove out on the Cape to check out the sights. I hadn’t been out here since I was in middle school and spent part of a summer with my aunt and uncle.
The Coast Guard station with an old lifesaving boat in the front yard as part of the training area.
Looks like some sort of shark was on the menu today at the commercial fishing dock.

Along a little country lane through the woods.
Out in one of the tidal estuaries.
An old whaling captain’s house complete with whale bone front gate.
At the Heritage Museum and Gardens classic car collection.
This museum has an amazing collection of historically significant cars from the early years of automobiles.
It’s all in a really interesting building.

The storage room where many more cars live.
At the canal watching boats go through with the tide.
My uncle and I canoed in this tidal marsh when I visited in middle school. It is a really pretty place.
A small man-made lake at the top of the tidal marsh. This lake is used for water for cranberry bogs.
On the north side of Cape Cod walking along a boardwalk over tidal marshes.
The boardwalk used to extend further before a hurricane took it out.
Really nice pics! I want that Land Rover but will settle for the fire truck!
There was a backstory to that Land Rover, too. I can’t find anything online about it though. I think it was something about the guy who donated it used it somewhere for a long time and then restored it?
