My office at the University of Sydney

I share “the dungeon” with about a dozen graduate students and post docs in the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Planning.  This is looking at the space from the door.  My desk is in the foreground on the right where the laptop is sitting.

Sometime when I come into the office in the morning, one of the PhD students is asleep on this couch.  He lives in the office when he doesn’t want to walk home.

This is my desk.  The previous occupant left a bunch of old books.  If any of them were worthwhile, I’d read them.  But who really wants to learn how to code in HTLM from a book that was last published in the mid 90’s?

There are some odd things stored in the office such as this crutch and a hard hat.  No one knows who any of it belongs to.

This is a typical student desk.  It can get pretty messy.  In that respect, Australian students are a lot like American students.

This is where Wanda, the other American on a short-term stay, sits.  She wasn’t in the office yet when I took these photos.

More strange things that no one knows where they came from or what they were used for.
