Handlebar Glovebox for a Honda Pacific Coast PC800

Longtime PCer Joe Smith made me aware of this handlebar glovebox that Neill Thompson (according to Tim Davies) at one time made (or maybe still makes?). It fits in between the handlebars on a Honda Pacific Coast PC800 motorcycle. It will fit any year of bike.

I am not sure if Neill is still making these or if there are only a few available but it sure looks like a neat little product for our beloved PCs! It would complement a pair of trunk liner bags like Athena used to make.

Ride to Parkfield

I rode down to Parkfield on my Honda Pacific Coast to see the most geologically active (from an earthquake perspective) place in California. This bridge spans a creek that runs along the San Andreas Fault. The fault moves a few inches every year.

The little town of Parkfield is at the extreme southeast end of Monterey County and it takes a few hours from Monterey to reach. There is a back road over the mountains that is paved which I took. There’s another back road that’s gravel partway which I will need to try in a car — my road bike is not setup for gravel 😅.

The little restaurant and venue at Parkfield is quite good. In the summer I imagine this place is pretty hopping but in the late fall it was pretty quiet.

Big ride on back roads to Coalinga and back

I went on an absolutely outstanding ride through back roads of Monterey, San Benito, and Fresno Counties to reach Coalinga for lunch. The roads were remote and not very well paved but my trusty Honda Pacific Coast PC800 saw me through the whole trip. It was surprisingly hot in Coalinga so I hid in the air conditioning of a restaurant for a half hour before starting the trip back to Monterey. I was having so much fun on the ride that I only took a couple photos and only pulled over a couple of times.
