  1. I’ve been away form the IPCRC for sometime. It was interesting to see you msgs regarding EFI for the PC. I’ve looked at Megasquirt for awhile and the addition of the concept of utilizing the existing carbs for the injector platforms per http://roadstercycle.com/yamaha_vmax_fuel_injector_cv_car.htm seemed to have merit and cost savings – if you can find a machinist for some simple work.
    I’ll continue to follow along as this is one of my favorite subjects – amongst others. When will I find the time?

      I keep asking myself the same question about time! Were it not for my several jobs, I’d have a lot more time to play with things like EFI.

      The link you sent me sure does look like it has merits. I have a friend or two with machine shop access so if I can’t find something that is off-the-shelf bolt-on, I will go that route. I’ve got some ideas kicking around in my head for the design. Need to do a little more reading on fuel injectors and actually purchase some. Also need to figure out where I will inject NOx and maybe Meth so I can have that prepared when I go to machine the injector manifold. Also I need to get a handle on the throttle bodies. The stock carbs have a nice set of throttle bodies but it would take some serious hacking to liberate them. I don’t really want to have to start from scratch and make my own. What I’m hoping is that I can find a common car with throttle bodies that are the right size and then go to the junkyard to get a pair. Same for the high pressure fuel pump. Hopefully I can find one that can take direct feed off of the tank in place of the stock PC fuel pump. And hopefully it won’t draw too many watts.

      Maybe if I make a good setup, I can start selling kits or charge to convert people’s PCs to fuel injection? 🙂
