i hope you’re right but the ellite of Tunisia think otherwise. they’re concerned for 50-100 years down the road when either inda or china look toward africa for expansion. all that open land, especially with the AIDS epidemic. ripe for the taking.

and when china starts to expand, it won’t do it slowly. it will explode. byebye most of Russia and central asia. byebye japan and taiwan. byebye all other asian countries. HELLO GREATER CHINA!

i also belive china has a few tricks up its sleeve that the general public isnt aware of. ive been seeing way too much good work come out of china RE hacking of computer networks to be a good thing. they’re “academically” breaking encryption and security measures faster than western tech people can make them.

so say those sites. and it seems odd that a white supremacist would team up with chinese disidents. it also seems odd, for how intelligent i make myself appear just how poorly i spell.

this was huge news back when i was still in beijing (like, 4 days ago). anyway the point is, that the general is a total whack job and got seriously bitch slapped by the rest of the government, who are like, dude, what the fuck are you doing? what are you, like, insane?

in my personal opinion, as someone who understands chinese culture and politics much better than your host dad, i would say that he’s full of paranoid shit.

china’s got so much internal problems to sort out on its own, i.e. taiwan, tibet, xinjiang, hongkong, fucking, even inner mongolia. it’s constantly trying to manhandle the whole “one china” business, it can’t even keep itself together. do you know how much natural resources china has? how much oil xinjiang has? most of china is underdeveloped, unindustrialized; china is fucking big. there’s always the illusion that china’s modern and metropolitan but 90 percent of the country is countryside. on the india subcontinent, india needs to feed its people and destroy pakistan before it decides to do anything like go ape shit.

paranoid, ignorant doomsday predictions like this perpetuate cultural myths. like all muslims are terrorists. it pisses me off.

not, however, that i’m saying china’s harmless. but this general is a total whack job. he comes from the generation of chinese leaders, especially military, who are so uneducated and peasant-like, that they don’t really believe the earth is round.

what i do think his outburst and craziness displays, is an external manifestation of china’s communist internal fissures and in fighting. the commies are clearly losing it. something like this would never ever have happened under deng xiaoping or even jiang zimin.

so you can keep buying those low walmart prices and not worry about the peasants popping up from the storage room to storm your local elderman’s office.

btw, that speach is for real but from a “nutcase” general according to a friend who lived in beijing the last six months (and happens to be chinese and speak fluent chinese). she left some comments below.
